5 Signs Of A Bad Real Estate Agent In Idaho

Bad Real Estate Agents

It can be stressful to buy or sell a Idaho home, and you rely on your real estate agent to help make the process as smooth and painless as possible. But sometimes in Idaho you can choose a bad real estate agents, making it even more frustrating to buy or sell your home than it needs to be.

If you have never previously bought or sold a home with a real estate agent, it may be hard to know when you have made poor choices. And sometimes all of the world’s recommendations and reviews won’t warn you that you’ve decided to work in Idaho with a bad real estate agent.

There are some things to look for to determine if the frustrations you are experiencing in Idaho  are normal or the sign of a bad real estate agent.

COMMUNICATION ISSUES

While it’s normal for your real estate agent not to be able to answer your call, text, or email right away (they work long hours and have a lot of customers to juggle!), how do you know when to draw the line on communication issues?

If you contact your real estate agent and receive nothing – not even acknowledging that your message has been received and they are working to get you an answer – you may have a bad real estate agent for 24 to 48 hours (or more).

At the very least, your agent should let you know that they’ve got your message and will soon get back to you with more information or schedule a time for more in-depth discussions.

DOESN’T LISTEN

When choosing a home, or trying to sell the one you’ve got, your needs should come first.

If you say you just want to look at homes in a certain neighborhood or a specific number of bedrooms and bathrooms, your agent shouldn’t bring you countless households to look at that doesn’t meet these criteria. While fulfilling all your requests may not always be easy, especially if you have a strict budget or the housing market in Idaho is hot, your agent should work to best meet your needs and explain thoroughly if your criteria can not be met.

An agent who does not listen to your needs during the home buying or selling process is not there to help you. It’s time to find a new agent if you feel you’re not being heard.

PUSHY

Your agent knows better than you do the market and the process of home buying or selling, so you can expect to be steered gently in a direction that makes sense if your expectations are out of line.

However, if your agent constantly shows you homes outside of your budget “because you’re going to love them” or pressures you to accept an offer that you know is too low, you may have found a bad agent in Idaho .

TOO MUCH ATTITUDE

Real estate agents are master marketers with lots of confidence, and this can sometimes come across as arrogance.

While some attitude is to be expected when dealing with real estate agents (they are people, you know!), if you feel that your agent is being put out by asking questions or trying to steam up your wishes, they are not a good fit.
